This may simply be cause you did not practice enough or you have not been trained. It is very effective and efficient. Perhaps that is why it is and has been the industry standard for a long time. Doubt that will ever change. However, you can achieve just as much with Nuendo and Cubase though the options are more limited which means slower work flow.

I worked on it and also on Nuendo/Cubase! Would never use “protools” again!

Usually, this is measured in either samples or milliseconds. This is known as Plug-in delay or plug-in latency.
